Latest Development in the Corporate Transparency Act

The US Government has filed a motion with the 5^th Circuit Court of Appeals for a stay of the nationwide injunction against enforcement of the Corporate Transparency Act.  On December 13, 2024, the Fifth Circuit issued a “COURT DIRECTIVE” requesting that the plaintiffs file a response to the Government’s Motion for stay by December 17, 2024 with the Government to file a reply by December 19, 2024 at 12:00 NOON.  It is anticipated that the Court will issue a ruling on the Motion to Stay by December 27.  Thus, it is possible that the January 1, 2025 disclosure deadline will again be effective.
