Marcelle helps admiralty and maritime companies resolve complex, high-stakes property damage and personal injury claims. Her experience on both sides of the table representing both vessel interests and marine terminal operators in collision and allision disputes allows her to guide transportation clients to practical and effective solutions. Marcelle also defends employers and vessel owners in Jones Act, § 905(b), and other personal injury claims. She has handled appeals and writs in state and federal courts.
For more than 20 years, Marcelle has also represented insurers and insurance agents. She began her practice defending insurance agents in malpractice claims in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Today, Marcelle provides coverage opinions to insurance companies and policy holders and represents them in both declaratory judgments and direct action lawsuits. She also assists agents facing professional liability allegations. She has handled numerous matters related to commercial general liability and homeowners’ policies, as well as auto, protection and indemnity, and marine general liability policies.
