Judy Perry Martinez Speaks at the 2026 David J. Bederman Symposium on Access to Global Justice

April 3, 2026 General

Judy Perry Martinez spoke last week at the 2026 David J. Bederman Symposium on Access to Global Justice at Emory University School of Law.

Using World Justice Project Rule of Law Index data, she provided insights into global access to justice trends and gave a call to action regarding how the academy, lawyers, judges and business leaders can speak up and work in support of greater access to justice. Other speakers addressed collective litigation, alternative dispute resolution, funding models, the digitalization of courts, and the evolving role of AI in justice systems.

Keynotes by Advocate General EU Court of Justice Laila Medina and Judge Lee Rosenthal, USDC SD TX drove those present to think deeply and renew their commitment to justice for all.

Thanks to Magdalena Tulibacka and the team for a well planned symposium and her service as panel moderator kept speakers on schedule. Judy’s fellow panelists, Alan Uzelac, Eric Ini, Tadeusz Zembrzuski, Theo Broodyjk, Xander Kramer and Leanne Webster were a privilege and pleasure to work with.

Other symposium contributors included: Maria José Azar-Baud, András Bethlendi, PhD, Peter Cashman, Nikki Chamberlain, Adrian C., Nicholas Diamand, Christopher Hodges OBE, Jim Sandman, Anthony Sebock, Magdalena Skibińska, John Sorabji, Ianika Tzankova, Stacy Strong, Stefaan Voet.
