In Memoriam – H. Paul Simon
October 19, 1923 – November 1, 2018
It is with sorrow that we announce that H. Paul Simon, a founding member of the firm, died on November 1, 2018. During Paul’s years with the firm, he was known for his concern for others, his regard for detail, and deep passion for the law, particularly in the area of taxation. He was a fine lawyer and made those around him better.
Paul graduated from Tulane Law School in 1947 where he served on the board of editors of the Tulane Law Review and until his death on its advisory board of editors. Paul was both a certified public accountant and board-certified tax attorney. He was a member of the Tulane Law School Dean’s Council and served for 36 years as a member of the Program Committee of the Tulane Tax Institute. He was a member of the New Orleans Bar Assn., the Louisiana State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Louisiana Society of CPAs, the American Institute of CPAs, the American Judicature Society, a Fellow in the American College of Tax Counsel and rated as one of The Best Lawyers in America.
He will be greatly missed both by the firm and all who knew him.
