Madison Barton is a civil litigator whose practice spans various industries and contexts. With particular experience in insurance litigation, bad faith, and coverage, she handles matters ranging from trucking and auto accidents to property damage, medical malpractice, construction defects, premises liability, products liability, commercial litigation, prison cases, and others.

With a focus on the damages and recovery at play in commercial insurance policies, Madison’s work extends to both first-party and third-party claims, bad faith allegations, and excess lines. She successfully manages the intricacies of market and tower policies, advocating for her client’s position among multiple coverage providers. Many of her cases are large, complex, high-value matters, and her repeat clients trust her counsel again and again.

Motivated by an interest to learn, no two days in Madison’s practice are ever the same. Whether in transportation, construction, medical, or manufacturing contexts, she thrives on learning a new details within the law, the nuances of a new industry, and analyzing the facts presented in a wide variety of matters.

Madison is proud of her public service working as Director of Boards and Commissions for South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley. This role required not only a deep familiarity of the policy and personalities needed for each position, but also the political acumen to guide nominees through numerous Senate confirmations.

With the motto that “a happy client is a good client,” Madison takes the most cost-efficient approach to each matter. Her familiarity with the industries in which she practices positions her to understand the impact of each case, no matter the dollar amount at stake.
