Abbey C. Barton is an associate with the firm. She focuses her practice on commercial, casualty, and insurance litigation, as well as trucking and transportation matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Abbey was an Assistant Attorney General for the Louisiana Department of Justice, where she handled the defense of medical malpractice claims filed against State-employed physicians.
Abbey attended Mississippi College School of Law, where she received her J.D. and a Certificate in Civil Law Studies in 2019. During her time at MC Law, she earned the Best Paper Award in Civil Law Matrimonial Regimes. Abbey also served in leadership roles for several campus organizations, including Editor-in-Chief of The Legal Eye, a student news publication, Elections Commissioner for the Student Bar Association, and President of campus ACLU chapter.
Prior to law school, Abbey earned her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2016. During her time at ULM, she worked as an academic tutor for student-athletes enrolled in Latin.
Originally from West Monroe, LA, Abbey now calls New Orleans home. Outside of work, Abbey is an avid concert-goer, and enjoys attending many of the festivals and events around the city.
