H. PAUL SIMONMr. Simon graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (B.S. 1943) and Tulane University Law School (J.D. 1947), and served on the Board of Editors of the Tulane Law Review. Mr. Simon has been admitted to practice law in Louisiana since 1947, and became a certified public accountant in Louisiana that same year. He is a Board Certified Tax Attorney and has substantial experience in the litigation of tax suits both in state and federal courts. Mr. Simon has represented clients in connection with corporate organizations, reorganizations and liquidations, shareholder agreements, voting trusts, partnerships, estates, trusts, purchases and sales of businesses, wills, successions and estate and tax planning. Mr. Simon served for 36 years on the Program Committee of the Tulane Tax Institute. He has been an associate editor of The Louisiana C.P.A., and estates, gifts & trusts editor of Tax Times (a national publication of Prentice-Hall). He presently serves on the Tulane Law School Dean's Council and on the Board of Advisory Editors of the Tulane Law Review. Mr. Simon has authored many articles including "The Louisiana Income Tax Law" (1956); "Changes Effected by the Louisiana Trust Code" (1965); "Gifts to Minors and the Parent's Obligation of Support" (1968); and co-authored "Deductions - Business Rather Than a Hobby" (1975); "Role of Attorney in IRS Examination of Tax Return" (1978). Mr. Simon is a member of the New Orleans, Louisiana and American Bar Associations, the American Judicature Society, the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and is a fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel.
