PROFILE:  

Before joining the firm in 2002, Mr. Ready served as a law clerk to the Honorable Walter J. Rothschild in the Twenty-Fourth Judicial District for the Parish of Jefferson. Since joining the firm, he has handled a variety of litigation and business matters. Mr. Ready represents several large national companies and insurers for a variety of general liability matters, ranging from slip and fall claims to complex prouduct liability claims. Mr. Ready has also tried a number of different cases before juries, judges, and arbitrators in state and federal courts throughout Louisiana. He recently obtained a defense jury verdict on behalf of a left-turning motorist. In 2001, he tried a complex commercial case with Daniel J. Caruso and obtained a defense verdict in a multi-million dollar business dispute on behalf of a boat manfuacturer.

Mr. Ready has written a variety of different coverage opinions for insurers on issues and policies ranging from coverage under an occurrence-based general liability policy to coverage under a claims-made employment practice policy. In addition to litigating various product and tort claims, Mr. Ready handles a variety of employment related matters. He provides advice and counseling to many of the firm's clients on employment issues ranging from wage and hour compliance under the FSLA to compliance with Title VII and the ADA. He has also drafted and revised employment policies and handbooks for various companies. Mr. Ready has litigated employment matters before the EEOC and in state and federal courts throughout Louisiana.
