PROFILE:  

Mr. Fischer practices primarily in the areas of commercial and corporate law, involving representation of clients in litigation and providing clients with advice and counsel. Some representative examples of his experience include federal and state securities regulation disputes involving primary and secondary liability claims from both a defense and plaintiff standpoint; accounting malpractice defense involving claims of auditing errors in violation of industry and regulatory standards; antitrust litigation involving claims of price fixing, vertical and horizontal restrictions, and boycotts; and natural gas contract litigation. He also has handled and participated in a number of class action lawsuits from both a plaintiff and defense standpoint, dealing in substantive areas such as securities law claims, tax matters, and federal regulatory violations.

Mr. Fischer also serves as a commercial arbitrator. He presently is an approved arbitrator for the National Association of Securities Dealers and has served as chairperson on numerous arbitration panels. These arbitrations have included both customer and member disputes and have involved claims ranging up to $3 million dollars.

Mr. Fischer is a 1972 honors graduate of the University of Notre Dame, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He graduated summa cum laude from the Ohio State University College of Law in 1976.
